Both groups have exciting events planned for the holiday season. The the newly formed Sky Valley Philharmonic will perform "Sounds of the Season" on December 5 followed by Monroe Community Band’s performance of "Choose Joy!" on December 12.

As spotted at Lake Tye Park in Monroe, WA. And for good reason. Red-winged blackbirds (Agelaius phoeniceus) know that the best spots have good access to good food, clean water, and protection from predators—like tall reeds.

If you love watching wildlife, you’ll love Monroe, where parklands, rivers, and forest trails offer glimpses into natural worlds just outside of town. Try Lake Tye, Al Borlin Park, or Sky River Park, and you’ll likely come face-to-face with furry and winged creatures.

Legacy Farm cordially invites you to putt-putt your way around Monroe, WA this fall. Their 18-hole mini golf course has been lovingly handcrafted from astroturf and wood, complete with a functioning waterfall and windmill. The mining theme is brought home with acoustic folk music playing throughout the course as you compete with your loved ones up and down the greens.

Monroe, WA’s very own M.A.C. - Monroe Arts Council (WA) is kicking off the fall with a great lineup of entertainment, starting with "Angry Housewives".

This is an uproarious musical comedy about four women who are tired of being kept in the background by the men in their lives and decide to form a punk rock band. The fun continues when they compete in a lucrative neighborhood talent contest.

Produced by Cascade Community Theatre, playing at Wagner Performing Arts Center, October 1 – 18.

The Cascade Loop Scenic Highway is a 440-mile, nationally recognized scenic byway that lets you connect the dots across Washington state's diverse landscapes. The journey takes you from the waterfront in Mukilteo across the Cascade Mountains, through orchard country, into North Cascades National Park, across farmland and out to the islands.

Monroe is the perfect base camp for this adventure. It's the ideal jumping-off point to explore the Cascade Loop.
