Sayoc San Gabriel Valley is your source for Sayoc Kali and Atienza Kali in the San Gabriel Valley. Sayoc SGV provides instruction in edged, impact, and flexible weapons as well as unarmed combat. As a Sayoc LA affiliate, we continue our training with an emphasis on producing individuals with a solid foundation of personal security built upon sound knowledge and skills in the Filipino Martial Arts.

Guro Steve Feng was first introduced to the Filipino Martial Arts in late 2001 with Guro Charles Chi at the Martial Arts Training Center in Lindenhurst, New York. This introduction led him to focus primarily on Sayoc Kali. After moving out to the west coast, Guro Steve began training with Guro Travis Downing and Guro Joey Pena’s backyard group; While his primary arts were still Sayoc Kali and Atienza Kali, he was also training in Muay Thai, CrossFit, and Inosanto blend; this eventually became Sayoc LA. Currently, Guro Steve holds Instructor rank in Sayoc Kali and is an Apprentice in Atienza Kali.

Registration is now live!

Join us as we continue the legacy of Pamana Tuhon Christopher Sayoc, Sr.

This is the annual gathering of Sayoc instructors and its members.

The theme is BROTHERHOOD!

Some of the events this year will be:

-Curriculum review
-Testing
-Melees and 1 on 1 matches
-Quickdraw
-Group Dynamics

Plus the opportunity to train with the Sayoc Tuhons and full instructors of Sayoc Kali.

This year we will also have a very special memorial as we celebrate Pamana Tuhon Sayoc's life.

Great day at the range today. Here are my numbers:

Cold 200: 114
Fahrnam: 11.93 seconds
From holster at 5 yards: 1.6 seconds consistently
200 at the end of the morning: 131

Shooting is a perishable skill. Mindful process=progress.

Warmed up with some stick and knife. Spent most of our time going higher on 3/9. Focus on feeder sets and feeding/receiving beyond installation. Tighter lines and more dynamic footwork were used as were three beat entries both in sequence and out.

Class suspended next week for the holiday.

Tuhon Thomas Kier will be doing a public seminar Sunday October 9 at the Tomicelli Academy in Costa Mesa. The time will be from 10 to 4. The cost is $100, $75 for those that attend the pistol class. This is another great oppurtunity to sync up with the So Cal Tribe! Please pass the word to your students and anyone else interested in Sayoc.
