Town of Wilton Emergency Operations Plan Effective Immediately

We are still OPEN for business. However, in light of the current events concerning COVID-19, we have made some adjustments to our day to day operations at Town Hall. The Town Hall will not be open to the general public starting today and we will reevaluate the situation before April 6th to see if we will need to remain closed to the public for time after to continue to combat COVID-19. Initiating these changes we hope will further minimize exposure and the spread of this deadly virus. The goal is to keep our community exposure to a minimum, not overburden medical facilities and clinicians, and keep our medical responders healthy and able to respond in these times of need. We also hope these changes will protect the citizens of Wilton and our senior citizens.

You can still make online payments at WWW.WILTONALABAMA.NET under the services tab. Your pin number to access your account is on your current bill. You can mail in your payment to the Town of Wilton P.O. Box 159, Wilton Alabama 35187 or drop off payment in drop box located to the left of the front door of the Town Hall under the window.

We are making every effort to continue to keep business running smoothly for our citizens and offering outstanding water services to our customers during this time. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to express them by calling the office at 205-665-2021.

We encourage everyone to remain informed, calm and practice physical/social distancing of six feet. The more we come together as a community and practice common sense procedures such as hand washing and limiting physical contact by staying home as much as possible we hope to limit the spread of the virus so that we can eventually return to our regular day to day life. Please be patient and let's work together to get to this goal. Thank you, stay vigilant and stay safe and healthy.

We are experiencing low pressure in some areas of our water system. We have the company out working on our SCADA system. We hope that by getting it back up and running correctly the water will continue to build back up and everyone’s pressure will get back to normal. If everyone could conserve water for the rest of today and tonight it will help to build our system back up. Thank you.

🛑🛑UPDATE ON LOW-PRESSURE ISSUES🛑🛑
We experienced a power failure at our well which caused our pump to stop. This drained our standpipe to a low level. This caused low pressure for some on our system. Alabama power is on their way to check out the electricity problems at the well. It will take today building back up standpipe after power is back on. So those with the pressure issues will slowly get their water pressure back as the standpipe fills to full capacity. Thank you for everyone's patience with this and also reporting the issues to us.

We are currently experiencing low water pressure issues within our system. We have workers already out looking for the issues. I will post back as soon as I know anything. Thank you all for letting us know about the issues. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Tornadoes, straight-line winds, and hail are also possible with this event. Please stay weather aware Saturday. Charge cell phones and flashlights. Power outages could be possible. Have a weather plan in check for your family. Helmets help protect head from injuries due to flying debris. Please check on our elderly citizens and neighbors. WATER IS BACK ON

Thank you for everyone’s patience during this scheduled water outage. Everyone should be back on. Please remember that there maybe some residual air in the lines from the actual repairs and this should go away several days from now. The flush plugs have been flushed out in preparation to remove the air. Air in the lines will cause faucets to “spit and sputter”. Thank you again for everyones patience during todays repairs.

Low water pressure in my area
I called to check on my son because he work's late. It's later than usual tonight so I had called to check on him. He was at the train so we wait patiently as usual. I called back, the train has had my son blocked since 2:40 a.m. there is no telling how long the train was there before then. Now it's 4:05 a.m. and the 2nd call to the 1-800 number. The lady said they were having mechanical issue's😒 So every time both ends are blocked and just the tip of the nose of the train is blocking one end it's a mechanical issue???? Someone is going to loose their life if Paramedics or police can't get through!!! People are getting written up and loosing their job's because of this!!! No one is out there working on the "mechanical issue ma'am"!!! Let's see how long this takes! I hang up, call my son back and hear the train blowing, it's moving. That was might fast when those people have sat for 2hrs it only took 1 irrate call and 2 minutes to fix the "mechanical issue". Those people be down their getting their check while blocking other people from going to get their check, spend it or whatever. I hate I missed that city hall meeting yesterday😫 #RantOver #Mysonhome #NowIcansleep #Countingtrainsnotsheep
predictable water service
Still having issues with water pressure at a trickle. Literally. No exaggerations. Is this still an issue or do I need to be looking on my side of the meter?
Is there an outage? After the lightening hit we seemed to have lost water...
Does anyone know if there is there is an after-hours number we can call to report our water being out?
Is there a reason for low pressure on CR 774? It has been low since Sunday evening..
