Senator Chris Elliott Alabama State Senate 32 Chris Elliott is serving his first term in the Alabama Senate. He was born and raised in Mobile and Baldwin counties.

After graduating from St. Paul’s Episcopal School in Mobile, Chris received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Richmond in Virginia, majoring in political science and urban policy. After completing his undergraduate studies, Chris worked for the Commonwealth of Virginia in the Emergency Management field and for Virginia Power focusing on Nuclear Security and Emergency Preparedness. He returned home to Baldwin County to raise his family where he is a small business owner who has started several successful small businesses. Senator Elliott is an active member of the Alabama Senate where he serves as Vice-Chairman of the Senate Government Affairs Committee and serves on the Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry Committee; the Tourism Committee; the Transpiration & Energy Committee; the Banking & Insurance Committee; the Committee on Confirmations; the Education Policy Committee; the Joint Transportation Committee; the Oil and Gas Study Committee; the Legislative Oversight Committee for the Alabama Housing Finance Authority; the Advisory Board for the Alabama Department of Senior Services and the Aerospace and Defense Caucus. Senator Elliott formerly served as the Chairman of the Baldwin County Commission and the Chairman of the Eastern Shore Metropolitan Planning Organization, as well as on various national, statewide and countywide boards and committees. While Commissioner, Elliott also served on the Board of Directors of Baldwin County United Way. In 2015, he was recognized as one of the Mobile Area’s top 40 Under 40 young leaders by Mobile Bay Monthly Magazine, and, in 2018, he was recognized in the Yellowhammer Power & Influence 50, an annual list of the 50 most powerful and influential players in Alabama politics, business and state government. He is a graduate of the Alabama Leadership Initiative and a member of the 30th Class of Leadership Alabama. In 2020 Senator Elliott recognized as an Emerging Legislative Leader by the State Legislative Leaders Foundation and the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business. Active in Republican politics for over a decade, Senator Elliott has worked with numerous statewide and local political campaigns in both Virginia and Alabama. Senator Elliott served on the Executive Committee of the Baldwin County Republican Party, formerly as Vice Chairman for District 2, served on the Steering Committee of the Baldwin County Republican Party, the Executive Committee of the Alabama Republican Party, is a member and past Chairman of the Baldwin County Young Republicans, and is an associate member of both the Eastern Shore and South Baldwin Republican Women. Senator Elliott and his family are members of St. James Episcopal Church of Fairhope where he served as an usher and served on the Church's Vestry. Senator Elliott is an avid sailor and upland bird hunter.

As my colleague and dear friend Senator Lindsey Graham said in his final days, the ability to pass this bill and sanction Russia and Iran would be his most consequential legislative accomplishment.

Now, named in his honor, I am thrilled to celebrate the House passing the Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act of 2026 and sending it to President Trump’s desk to be signed into law.

We are now one step closer to arming President Trump with the tools he needs to deplete Russia of the little economic power it has left and bring much-needed peace to the region.

There's a fairly new Orange Beach facility that some locals still don't know is there.

The Orange Beach Shooting Complex officially opened to the public in August 2025 at 23172 Russian Road.

Right now, the complex has five trap and s***t fields and can host tournaments. A separate rifle range is currently under construction.

But the city isn't finished.

Orange Beach was recently awarded $1.5 million in GoMESA funding to build a permanent clubhouse at the complex.

And this won't just be somewhere to check in.

Plans call for administrative space, public restrooms, classroom and training areas and event space for competitions. The city says the building will also support firearm-safety education, youth programs and conservation outreach.

The shooting complex already has a strong connection to local students.

Orange Beach's school shooting team has become a serious competitor in Alabama's Scholastic Clay Target Program, and the facility gives the community a permanent home for shooting sports.

As for the new clubhouse, don't expect to see construction immediately.

The Orange Beach City Council first has to formally accept the GoMESA agreement. Plans will then be prepared and the project put out for bid. The city currently expects construction to begin sometime in 2027.

It's another example of just how much Orange Beach has changed.

For years, most people associated city recreation with beaches, boating and fishing.

Now Orange Beach is building facilities for everything from sailing and biking to competitive shooting.

And this one is just getting started.
