Gov. Kay Ivey signed Act 2026-513 (HB55) on June 9, 2026. Alabama Real Estate Commission Executive Director, Dr. Vaughn T. Poe, joined legislators and industry stakeholders to celebrate the passage of this significant consumer protection measure, which requires financial institutions to allow mortgagors to make additional mortgage payments without penalty.
