The Sullivan County Child Advocacy Center is collecting 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 now through 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟴𝘁𝗵 to help children and families in our community begin the school year with the tools they need to succeed.
For many of the children we serve, a backpack filled with school supplies is more than just pencils and notebooks; it is a reminder that their community cares, believes in them, and wants them to thrive.
Every donation, no matter the size, can make a meaningful difference. Whether it's backpacks, notebooks, folders, crayons, pencils, markers, glue, scissors, tissues, or any other school essentials, your generosity helps brighten a child's future.

“Money may not grow on trees, but you can better equip your non-profit, small business, or municipality to obtain grant funding,” says Sullivan County Grants Administration Director Arthur Hussey.

He adds that municipalities, for-profit businesses, and not-for-profit corporations are usually eligible for Federal, State, or private charitable grant funding but may find that they are not “grant ready” when an opportunity arises, due to lack of proper project planning.

“There are time-tested methods of approaching project planning to set an organization up for success,” he notes, “and we’re here to help in that regard.”

The Sullivan County Department of Grants Administration will host two free Grant Project Planning Workshops on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, in the Legislative Hearing Room located on the 2nd floor of the Sullivan County Government Center, 100 North Street, Monticello. For the convenience of all, the workshops will be offered at two separate times, from 9-10 a.m. and 6:30-7:30 p.m.

The workshops will include a high-level introduction to the steps necessary for thorough project planning and are ideal for municipal leadership, for-profit businesses, and not-for-profit organizations.

Pre-registration is requested, but participants are welcome to attend the time slot that best fits their schedule. Register online at www.sullivanny.gov/Departments/grants. Or contact the Sullivan County Planning Division at 845-807-0527 for additional information.

The Sullivan County Department of Grants Administration serves the divisions, departments, agencies and other units of the Sullivan County government.
