From Indiana Department of Veterans Affairs,

Severe flooding in Indiana has displaced many Hoosiers, including Veterans and their families. Effective August 14, 2026, to support those affected, IDVA has launched the MFRF Disaster Flood Emergency (DFE) program.

The DFE delivers short‑term financial assistance to qualified individuals displaced from their homes and in need of temporary housing. The program runs through Sept. 13.

For other flood related assistance (repairs, new permanent housing, vehicle repairs, etc.) please encourage your veterans to apply on the standard application.

Great news for our Veteran community!

The Mayor of Monticello just called with some outstanding news. Mayor Sims has ensured that all active-duty military members and Veterans will receive FREE admission to the Monticello City Pool for the entire month of July!

This is a wonderful gesture of appreciation for those who have served our country.

Thank you, Mayor Sims, for your continued support of the Veteran community and for everything you've done for the Veterans of White County. Your commitment to recognizing those who have served does not go unnoticed.

We hope our local Veterans and military families take advantage of this opportunity and enjoy some well-deserved time at the pool this July!
