We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the residents of Livingston Manor and the Board of Fire Commissioners for the generous funding and support that made the purchase of our new 3M Scott Air-Pak XD SCBAs possible.

These new air packs are a vital upgrade to our equipment and will greatly enhance the safety, effectiveness, and confidence of our firefighters while operating in hazardous environments. Your continued commitment to providing modern, reliable equipment demonstrates a strong dedication to the safety of both our firefighters and the community we proudly serve.

We truly appreciate your ongoing support and investment in our department.

The Sullivan County Volunteer Firefighters Association held its 65th Annual Memorial Service. We honored the Sullivan County Volunteer Firefighters who passed away in 2024. We commemorated their lives alongside family members and fellow firefighters at the Sullivan County Government Center.

It is with deep sadness that the officers and members of the Rock Hill Fire Department announce the passing of life member Chet Smith. Chet was a dedicated member of our department for 39 years, past president and our current Treasurer.

Chet was a lifelong servant to the Rock Hill community and all of Sullivan County. He was a proud and active member of our department, a past president (serving twice) and recording secretary of the Sullivan County Volunteer Firefighters Association, and a former member and past president of the Rock Hill Volunteer Ambulance Corps, where he served as an EMT for 15 years.

Chet also played a central role in organizing our annual pancake and French toast breakfasts, giving countless hours of his time to support our mission and bring the community together.

We extend our deepest condolences to his beloved wife Pam and his entire family. Chet’s legacy of service and kindness will never be forgotten.

Rest easy, Chet. We’ve got it from here.
