Go to our stories and answer the poll and join in on this important topic.

On average, youth in foster care change schools 1–2 times every single year.

And for many, the disruption begins immediately: 3 out of 4 children switch schools the very first time they enter the foster care system.

Why does this matter?

Every school move can mean 4–6 months of lost academic progress. Frequent moves can also lead to lost course credits, disrupted friendships, and an even harder path to graduation.

For a child already experiencing so much change, school stability matters. 💙

That’s where a CASA volunteer can make a difference. While placements and schools may change, a CASA volunteer can be a consistent advocate working with teachers, caseworkers, and judges to help ensure a child’s educational needs are seen and that they don’t fall through the cracks.

Find out how you can be the constant they need.

There are currently 1,221 children in foster care in Idaho.

But these children are not just a number.
They are kids with favorite colors, big dreams, and hard stories. They are siblings who want to stay together, teens hoping someone will believe in them, and little ones looking for safety, stability, and love.

Behind every number is a child who deserves to feel seen, supported, and cared for.

Foster care changes lives—not just for children, but for the families and communities who step up to help. Whether through fostering, respite care, mentoring, donating, or simply sharing awareness, you can make a difference.

1,221 children. 1,221 stories. 1,221 reasons to care.

Because kids are never just a number.
