Just to highlight several important points about civic projects and community involvement. Building facilities like youth centers often requires significant financial resources, and finding sponsorship or grants can be challenging. It's crucial for communities to come together and advocate for funding from various sources, including private donations, local businesses, and grant programs, to make these projects a reality. Anyone in the community can pursue these projects being an elected official is not a requirement.

Civic responsibility: Cleaning and maintaining public spaces can be a community effort that doesn’t necessarily rely on elected officials. Initiatives like the city-wide cleanup day held annually the last Saturday in April are excellent for fostering community spirit and collaboration, allowing residents to take an active role in improving their neighborhoods regardless of official status.

Overall, it’s important for community members to recognize the need for support and resources for civic projects while also taking initiative in local beautification and maintenance efforts. We should all encourage collaboration among residents, businesses, and local government to achieve shared goals.

There are basic principles of honesty, fairness, responsibility and respect to which every candidate for public office should adhere in order to be worthy of public office.
Candidates who fall short of adhering to such principles alienate the public from the electoral process and erode the public’s trust and confidence in the offices those candidates seek.

THEREFORE, as a candidate for re-election as Mayor, I pledge to conform my campaign to the following principles:
• General
My campaign for public office will adhere to principles of honesty, fairness, responsibility and respect.
My campaign communications will present only fair, relevant and truthful information to the voters for their consideration of my candidacy and those of my opponents.
• Truthfulness
I will present my positions and record candidly and forthrightly so that the voters can judge my candidacy for office.
• Responsibility
I support full participation in the electoral process and will take no action to discourage such participation.
• Respect
I will treat my opponents with courtesy and civility, even when we disagree about what is best for voters who are served by the office we seek.
This is my commitment to conduct an ethical campaign.

It was a joy to see so many students hard work pay off. Congratulations to the Class of 2019.
