We are needing suggestions on a name for Mount Vernon's newest greenspace park at 4th and Main Streets. Something historical, our community or for the future are some of the themes. It would be great to have children to turn in names also.
The name with the most votes will be given to the committee who has the final say on the new name of the park.

New Harmony!

Join our community on the 4th of July for New Harmony's Annual Independence Day Celebration! 🇺🇸

Proudly presented by the Friends of the Working Men's Institute in partnership with Historic New Harmony and the New Harmony Kiwanis - This year's celebration begins at 10am at Murphy Auditorium.

Guests will enjoy a patriotic program featuring keynote speaker Ryan Rockicki, a reading of the Declaration of Independence by Karen Moser, musical performances by the New Harmony Community Choir, and an Honor Guard presentation by the American Legion. 🦅

Following the ceremony, decorated golf carts will line up behind Murphy Auditorium on Steammill Street before parading through town to Maclure Park for the annual community picnic.

A brief patriotic program featuring the American Legion Honor Guard will begin at 12pm, followed by live music from Bob Minnette & the Dixieland Society. 🎶

The celebration concludes around 1pm, with picnic food available at the same prices as last year.

Bring your family, decorate your golf cart, and celebrate America's birthday with a morning of community, patriotism, music, and tradition in New Harmony.
