Today we are grading a few of the fish we received from Greers Ferry National Fish Hatchery. This helps spread growth out for stocking purposes and provides more uniform fish for our rivers.

We did a little thinning of the display raceway last week. Arkansas Game and Fish Commision came by to weigh,measure, and tag the individuals we released. Several of these fish were over ten pounds! 10 were released into the North Fork River and 10 were released at the confluence of the North Fork and White Rivers. 5 more large fish were stocked in the white below Beaver Dam. It is always an exciting task for us here and we hope some lucky fisherman can land them 😃.

We have been stocking a few Brown Trout lately! These fish have had their adipose fins clipped by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. Jim Hinkle State fish Hatchery will be coming to pick some up this week for the Spring River. Here's a link to a short article about our browns. We know everyone was bummed about the fishing derby being canceled this year, but there is good news. The Hatchery Outdoor Adventure has been scheduled for September 6 this year.This event is organized by the friends of the Norfork National Fish Hatchery. We hope to see you there 😀
