The 63d Readiness Division, supported by Army Reserve colleagues, is wrapping up the second week of Operation Holistic Warrior strong at Camp Parks in Dublin, Calif.

Capt. Anthony P. Paradis, a performance dietitian with the 8th Medical Brigade, taught Soldiers practical cooking skills to strengthen nutritional readiness and improve performance at home and on duty. Through hands-on training across the five H2F domains, Soldiers are building healthier habits they can bring back to their units.

Soldiers attending Holistic Warrior wrapped up week one of the two-week event with a 2.5-mile hike along Old Cove Landing Trail, trading traditional PT for a change of scenery while building endurance, resilience and camaraderie. As they head into week two, Soldiers are adding more tools to their H2F toolkit to help them reach their potential — take what works for you and bring it back to your formation.

Staff Sgt. Will Griffin, 88th Readiness Division, demonstrates partner-assisted stretching during the Holistic Warrior Workshop at Camp Parks.

In some ways, the demonstration reflects the Army Reserve itself: We’re stronger when we support each other.

Led by the 63d and assisted by 81st Readiness Divisions, the workshop brought together cadre from readiness divisions and functional commands across the Army Reserve to share their expertise and give Soldiers tools to take back to their formations.

Different patches, different missions, one Army Reserve — building readiness together.

Take what you learn, share it with your team, and help build a stronger Army Reserve.

More than 60 U.S. Army Reserve Soldiers are attending the Holistic Health and Fitness Holistic Warrior Workshop at Parks Reserve Forces Training Area, California.

On the workshop’s second day, Maj. Gen. Windsor S. Buzza visited the installation and spoke with the Soldiers before they completed a baseline Army Fitness Test. They will complete the AFT again at the end of the workshop to measure their development and assess their progress.

By teaching the five H2F domains, the workshop gives Soldiers more tools for their fitness toolkit, helping them build a stronger foundation for physical readiness, resilience and overall well-being.

Maj. Gen. Windsor S. Buzza, commanding general of the 63d Readiness Division, met with Capt. Hyeong Gyun Oh, commander of the East Bay Army Recruiting Company, to discuss strengthening ties between recruiters and local Army Reserve units. They focused on sharing Soldiers’ stories, promoting critical military occupational specialties and connecting service with civilian careers. Bay Area Soldiers can help by sharing their unit’s story and connecting recruiters with people interested in serving close to home.

Taking the time to recognize people matters. Awards and command coins show our Soldiers and civilians that their hard work, teamwork, and commitment do not go unnoticed. The FY26 Effects Coordination Board brought together leaders and staff from across the Army Reserve to collaborate, address shared challenges, and improve readiness. Much of the work required to make an event like this successful happens behind the scenes, but its impact reaches across the force and directly supports the mission.

Soldiers and civilians representing each of the U.S. Army Reserve’s Readiness Divisions took on a five-lane fitness challenge hosted by the 63d Readiness Division, running between stations and completing exercises such as burpees, squats, rowing, and cycling.

Built around Holistic Health and Fitness principles, the challenge promoted physical and mental readiness while fostering camaraderie through shared effort and a touch of friendly competition.

No matter the mission, readiness starts with Soldiers prepared to perform.
