Vehicle Fire – BOX 76-17
Earlier today, Iron Ridge Fire Rescue responded to a reported vehicle fire involving a U-Haul van. Engine 7-1 arrived first due engine, to find the vehicle heavily involved and quickly brought the fire under control, preventing further extension and ensuring the scene was made safe.
Following suppression efforts, firefighters remained on scene to assist with overhaul operations and the cleanup of debris and fluids from the parking lot before turning the scene back over to property representatives.
We would like to thank our mutual aid partners, Columbia Borough Fire Department Station 80, and extend a special thank you to the West Hempfield Township Police Department for their assistance with scene safety and cleanup efforts. We would also like to recognize our Fire Police personnel for their work managing traffic control and helping to keep responders and the public safe throughout the incident.
As always, thank you to the members who responded and worked together to bring the incident to a safe conclusion. Chief 7 had the 7 command for the duration of the incident.
