When is the State of Indiana going to realize that we have a problem in this state with juveniles committing violent crime? When will the state realize that its soft on juvenile crime policies and JDAI programs funded by special interests groups that implement juvenile criminal hand holding and group hugs is an utter failure? How many innocent people have to die? You can’t hug the crime out of a juvenile criminal. I have been ringing this alarm bell for years.

Someone needs to get the Department of Corrections under control. They keep adding more and more “time cuts” in order to release criminals early. This is ridiculous. We MUST have truth in sentencing. A judge imposed a sentence - and that sentence must be carried out.

A repeat drunk driver is expected to be released from prison one year into his three-year prison sentence, due in part to a state program that allows offenders to get time cuts from their sentences.

These are disturbing numbers. If a criminal is willing to attack, ambush, and kill a uniformed police officer, just think what a criminal is willing to do to the average citizen.

I couldn’t agree more.

Prosecutors and judges across Indiana need to stop the revolving door by aggressively holding repeat offenders accountable, imposing meaningful sentences, and keeping violent criminals locked up so they can’t keep targeting our brave men and women who wear the badge.

Our law enforcement officers protect our communities every single day. They run toward the danger when others run away. They answer the call, even when it means risking everything. It's an impossible job, and yet they do it over and over again.

They deserve nothing but our absolute support.

A Muncie man thought he could take ownership of a home by walking onto the property and presenting a forged deed to the homeowner.

This scheme landed him a 10-year stay in prison.
