Wellness isn't easy. Many people might often think of the EE concept of wellness: exercise and eating (nutrition). However, other elements, such as social wellness, can add to our life satisfaction. In this presentation, John McCarthy Ph.D., will discuss a general model of wellness, explore insights from the World Happiness Report, and highlight recent findings on well-being. An international educator, author, and Psychology lecturer, Dr. McCarthy has presented in 14 countries on creative problem solving, innovation, solution-focused thinking, and positive psychology. From now until May 14 we'll have multiple copies of Ester Forbes' Johnny Tremain available for people to borrow. Then, on May 14 we'll meet up at the library to discuss the book and watch the Disney adaptation. This work of historical fiction is set in Boston prior to and during the outbreak of the American Revolution. It follows a promising apprentice silversmith, Johnny Tremain as he is drawn into the Revolutionary War, and becomes a patriot fighting to free the colonies from England. 1:00 PM - Stan Gordon Presents - Registration Required

UFO & Bigfoot Researcher and Author, Stan Gordon, will present an illustrated lecture where he will reveal startling newer details regarding the Kecksburg, PA UFO incident. December 9, 2025, marked the 60th anniversary since a mysterious object fell from the sky into a wooded area near Kecksburg in Westmoreland County. Whatever that object was it apparently was important enough that the military responded quickly to that area. Stan will discuss many details surrounding what took place around the landing site that evening. Was there something alive inside of the object? Why has the public never been told the truth of what was recovered that day? Stan will also give an update on recent UFO, Bigfoot, and cryptid encounters that have taken place around the Pittsburgh area and state. He will also be doing a book and DVD signing. May 16th at 2pm at the Norwin Public Library With Westmoreland Writers Wolf Pack For Ages 8-10 In these session the children will learn a deeper understanding of the craft of storytelling. This knowledge will be put to use through prompt guided writing sprints encouraging each child to flex their creative muscles and put pen to paper creating a short written story. Participants do not need to attend all 3 sessions (happening on 4/18, 4/25 & 5/16), but it will be more beneficial if they can. Space is very limited.
