Tomorrow is Election Day, and I want to say thank you, Nags Head!

Over the past several months, I’ve had countless conversations with neighbors, lifelong locals, new residents, business owners and community leaders. Through all these conversations, one theme has come through again and again: We all deeply love this town and care about its future.

Our shared love for Nags Head is why I’m running:
✅ To protect our natural beauty and water quality
✅ To support thoughtful, well-planned growth
✅ To preserve our small-town character and quality of life
✅ To support the small, local businesses that have always been the heart of Nags Head
✅ To ensure Nags Head remains welcoming, safe and vibrant for generations
✅ To look for creative solutions to our workforce housing issues

I am a 30-year resident of Nags Head and I have spent the last 6 years serving on the Nags Head Planning Board. As a longtime writer and editor, I’ve built a career on listening, learning and digging deep into issues — skills I will use every day as your commissioner. I believe in community-driven decisions, respectful dialogue and planning with both heart and foresight.

Tomorrow, I humbly ask for your vote.

Check your voter registration.
And don't forget to bring your ID when you vote!

We missed posting on National Voter Registration Day yesterday- but now is as good a time as any to remind you to check your voter registration status for the upcoming 2025 Municipal Election.

Check your voter registration status by visiting:
vt.ncsbe.gov/RegLkup/

Ways to register:
✔️If you have a N.C. driver’s license or other DMV identification, you may register to vote online at Payments.NCDOT.gov.
✔️ Complete a Voter Registration application in English or Spanish on paper and return it to the Dare County Board of Elections office before 5 p.m. on October 10, 2025.

The voter registration deadline for the 2025 Municipal Election is Friday, October 10, 2025.

If you miss the deadline, Dare County residents may be eligible to register and vote or make changes to voter registration—with the exception of changing party affiliation—during the early voting period that begins on Thursday, October 16, 2025.
