Motorcycle Awareness Day Parade In May 2008 I started a Parade along with a sponsor to celebrate Motorcycle Awareness Month. Each year we strive the grow that Awareness.

In May 2008 in just 14 days I organized a parade to celebrate Motorcycle Awareness Month and the government announcing Motorcycle Awareness Day at the Capital building with special events and parking. I expected a few of my close friends to show up, but to my amazement over 60 bikes showed up to participate. After the short parade through town, they wanted more!!! So in 2009 I asked ABATE of Ohio,

Inc Region 4 to join me in the event. We added an after parade location and had over 250 bikes. The following year we added a poker run. Each year we have added to the event and I always knew that I wanted this event to benefit some sort of charity and the last few years we have incorporated Lily Creek Farms, a local non profit that helps those with special needs. We have also always honored our veterans as this event usually takes place on Armed Forces Day and without our Veterans we would not have the freedoms we would need to ride or to celebrate freely! Each year we are learning and growing and we hope to see you there to make this years event the best yet!!!

And good news… the rain looks like it should be slowing down or stopping around parade time! 🙌

So grab the bike, grab the car, grab your friends, and come out to support a great cause during Motorcycle Awareness Month and Memorial Weekend.

🚨 And YES — if you don’t want to ride your motorcycle because of the weather, we would still LOVE to have you join the parade in your vehicle! Cars and trucks supporting the cause are absolutely welcome.

📍 Registration: 11:00 AM at Northtowne Mall in Defiance
📍 Parade Starts: 12:00 PM
📍 Ends at AMVETS in Defiance

After the parade, join us at AMVETS for:
🍗 Smoked chicken or pulled pork dinners by Hill’s Catering
🎟️ Raffles & drawings
🏍️ Motorcycles & community fun

Either way — the Motorcycle Awareness Day Parade is ON for Saturday!

May is Motorcycle Awareness Month, and we’re hoping riders still saddle up and join us as we ride through Defiance to help spread awareness, support our community, and honor Memorial Weekend together.

Yes, the weather may be a little chilly and rainy… but motorcycles were built for adventure, right? 🏍️

📍 Registration: 11:00 AM at Northtowne Mall
📍 Parade Starts: 12:00 PM
📍 Parade Ends at AMVETS in Defiance

We know many riders are traveling from Ohio, Indiana, and Michigan, and we truly appreciate everyone making the trip to support this event and the programs of Lily Creek Farms and especially our veterans programs during Memorial Weekend.

Come line the streets of downtown Defiance and experience one of the area’s most powerful Memorial Day Weekend traditions!

The 17th Annual Motorcycle Awareness Day Parade rolls through downtown at NOON on Saturday, May 23rd, es**rted by local police, fire, and sheriff departments.

📍 Best viewing areas: • Clinton Street
• East 2nd Street
• Around Triangle Park in Downtown Defiance

Bring your family, wave your flags, and watch hundreds of motorcycles ride through the heart of our community in honor of motorcycle awareness, community, and those who have served our country.

After the parade, the public is invited to head over to the AMVETS for:

🍗 Smoked chicken & pulled pork meals
🎟️ Raffles & drawings
🏍️ Motorcycle rally & bike viewing
❤️ Community fellowship

This event is a fundraiser benefiting Lily Creek Farms Therapeutic Riding Center, including programs supporting veterans, first responders, individuals with disabilities, and others in need through equine-assisted and farm-based activities.
