Selective grazing of steers. Illustration of why multi species grazing would be more effective. In our context, sheep and goats were not an option. Goats would literally eat our pecan trees and sheep need a guardian dog. Personally, I love our dogs so much that it would be hard on me to put a guardian dog out in the field with sheep and not be able to have them as my companion. We are contemplating mowing the areas where the steers did not eat when they leave a paddock to replicate as best we can what sheep and goats would have eaten. What do you think? , , , ,

Nofence USA virtual collar fitting for Nitro. He was the first to be promoted to his collar so WE could learn how to adjust it. He was a pro champ and easy going while fitting. Congratulations Nitro on your promotion to get your virtual collar. The other steers will be fitted in the morning. We did not want to put the collars on for the first time at night as we could not observe how they were adjusting to their collars. , , , , , , ,

Nothing like going to the spa after breakfast. Diesel was the last of the four miniature Herefords to allow brushing WHILE eating from the hand. Now he doesn't even need food in front of him to get brushed.
