Luke Thomas Burkhalter, son of Kevin & Amanda Burkhalter of Lumberton, was diagnosed at 2yrs old with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on September 10, 2010. His first chemo treatment was done the following day and will continue for quite some time. He was admitted to UTMB Galveston for chest pain that had nothing to do with the fact that he had cancer. When the doctors had found the 4-5% "blast cells

" through procedure blood test, he was then transferred to TX Children's Hospital in Houston for a bone marrow aspiration to confirm the questionable "normal percentage". It is less than 1% when cancer is EVER found in this early of a stage.
