Yesterday was quite an interesting day for me and busy in the oddest way. Most of you have probably seen or received the 'Shady Shane' mailer.

This type of mailer is one of the things that makes me so frustrated with current politics. It came from a virtual mailing address, from a Nebraska based company that doesn't have to publicly report who donates or where their money comes from. The only part accurate is that I'm willing to work with Democrats (and all people for that matter).

What it does say to me though is that I'm a threat and am too close for my opponents comfort in this primary race. The outpouring of support with messages and phone calls also say the citizens want their voice back at the state house....not the voice of these entities and big PAC $.

So, let's get it done. Election day is about a week away on June 2nd. Early voting is underway. Let's make the message loud and clear that we want a common sense voice for the citizens back in office!

Sorry, LONG POST! 😊

Last night, door knocking in Collins was a night I may remember for the rest of my life. It started off pretty common except for the lady who hugged me (sweet lady happy to see me). It kept getting better. I noticed a gentlemen watching me working my way down the street to his house. He met me near the end of his driveway and asked if he could help me. It maybe wasn't the most welcome greeting. I introduced myself and explained what I stood for and why I was running. I left a bit later with assurances of a few votes and a prayer offering. It was a great conversation. I made my way to the next house and quite literally walked into a conversation between a couple about who they were going to vote for. The woman remarked to me that it couldn't have been coincidence and it was an indictation that I was right were I was supposed to be. Putting it into written word here does not fully portray the impact these conversations had on me.

What struck me is this. I am a man of quiet faith. I do not wear my faith on my sleeve or express it much publicly but I have seen, felt and experienced too many things in my life to not be a believer in God. This campaign has been one of those experiences. The constant subtle reassurances when I or Christine need them. The donation that comes at just the right time. The connections that lead to more connections and relationships. The feeling that I'm on the right track and doing what Im supposed to be doing.

Can you help me keep this going? I need your vote on June 2nd.

I will think of the citizens first when I'm representing YOU!

Cheers to early voting! Took the entire campaign team to the polls today....yep just my wife and I. 😆 This is what grassroots and fiscal responsibility looks like to us. We've sent each text, read each response, hung each door hanger, squeezed the most out of each dollar and handled each piece of the puzzle ourselves.

We've met so many great supporters who have extended my message in their respected towns. This is grassroots! Citizens taking back their voice and voting for someone who will truly represent them.

I'm just a regular guy who's had enough of politicians who don't understand the day to day struggles most people face. I'm up against a political machine with plenty of $. I need each and every vote I can get. Please help me get this done. Remember to vote June 2nd, tell a friend, family member or neighbor.

2 weeks until election day! I'm feeling optimistic but there is still a lot of work to do and people to talk to.

Today also marks a campaign report due date. If you want to know who your representative is truly representing, follow the money. 48 PAC contributions to the tune of $34,350. That does not include the $1500 he's also received from Bruce Rastetter of Summit or the alarming # of out of state donors. He is more for the PACs, not the people.

I saw a post from my opponent that he is endorsed by Brenna Bird. I'm torn between confusion, anger and disappointment.

How does it make sense that her office is suing his former employer (Nucara Pharmacy) for $22.2 million while he's #2 guy in charge? While he's also sitting on the Health and Human Sevices Committee as Vice-Chair and sitting on the HHS appropriations committee? While he claims to know nothing about the missing $22.2 million. Make it make sense.

Legislative session has ended and there's been no discussion of how, when or if this money will be paid to the State and no answers where it went.

This is the exact type of behavior that adds to the culture of corruption at the state house. It is also the type of behavior I want to help put a stop to.

Could I earn your vote on June 2nd to help with this?

I'm maybe more excited about this than I should be but...

Come one come all and dunk me for a good cause!!! I'll be at the Lions Club Dunk Tank at 2:30 this Saturday afternoon during Pizza Pie Looza. Thank you to Nevada, Iowa Lions Club for including me. I'm looking forward to helping them raise some money!
