SRTA Announces “Try Transit” for the Holiday Season
Beginning November 25th through December 31st SRTA’s bus and paratransit services will be free to all thanks to a grant included in the state budget and awarded by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation.

Nominations to United Way's Holiday Wishes are due Monday!
Nominations for Holiday Wishes are due Monday! Each year we partner with FUN 107 & 1420 WBSM to fulfill Holiday Wishes for families and individuals on the SouthCoast.
We are looking to help families and individuals who have fallen on hard times due to loss of job, death or severe medical conditions of spouse or child, unanticipated bills that arise due to natural/unplanned disasters, etc. The ideal nominee is someone who is active in the Greater New Bedford area, needs assistance beyond the services provided by traditional health and human service agencies, has realistic and obtainable needs, and is often reluctant to ask for help even in dire situations.
Nominations will only be accepted at https://unitedwayofgnb.org/holiday-wishes and must be fully submitted by October 31, 2022 to be considered.

In 2021, President Biden issued a proclaimation making the second Monday in October as Indigenous Peoples' Day. On Indigenous Peoples’ Day, honors the past, present. And future of Native people across the country. The day is intended for reflection on the legacy and impact of colonialism on Indigenous communities, while also celebrating cultures and resilience.

Our Hunger Commission just delivered 6,000lbs of fresh food to the Citizens for Citizens Food Pantry in Fall River. Watch this short video to hear from CFC Executive Director Crystal Arpa on how to pick up! All you need is an ID. Their hours are Mon-Fri 8:00-Noon. Thanks Mike!
