It’s almost that time of year... Cape Cod League baseball is just around the corner. The Wareham Gatemen franchise- the 2018 Cape league champions- is looking for host families in the Fairhaven area to house college baseball players for the 2019 season which will run from June 1 to early August. We need host families for a week or two, a month or the entire season.
This is such a great opportunity for you and your family. You are responsible for providing a bed and breakfast foods (no, you do not have to cook) for which you will receive a stipend to help offset the cost. What you will receive back is priceless... a Summer Son, an extended family member, great memories. Please join in the fun this summer!
For more information see the host family section at gatemen.org which is in the drop down menu under “About Us” or you can email
[email protected].

Miss Massachusetts’ Outstanding Teen Announces “Party in the Park: An Afternoon of Family Fun”
On Sunday, June 24 from 2:00 – 5:00 PM, Miss Massachusetts’ Outstanding Teen 2018 Jordan St.Onge will host a family fun day at Livesey Park in Fairhaven. The money raised from the event will support The Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and Boston Children’s Hospital. CMNH is the National Platform of both the Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Program and the Miss America Organization. The event will feature bouncy houses, pony rides, face painting, raffles and food as well as entertainment provided by Jordan, her friends and some of her “sister-queens” from both the teen and miss local pageant programs.
An Official Preliminary to Miss America's Outstanding Teen Pageant, the Miss Massachusetts’ Outstanding Teen pageant promotes scholastic achievement, creative accomplishment, healthy living and community involvement. Jordan’s chosen community service platform is “Big Tobacco’s Final Hour” Lung Cancer Awareness and Prevention”. Miss St.Onge will be competing in the Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Pageant next month in Orlando, Florida. She is a rising senior at Fairhaven High School and her talent for the pageant is a contemporary Irish Step Dance. She won the state title in April in New Bedford.
There will be two bouncy houses, a dunk tank, face painting and pony rides. Ice cream will be provided by Acushnet Creamery and there will be popcorn, cotton candy and other snacks for attendees. For more information and to purchase tickets, call Stephanie St.Onge at 508-269-8174 or go to the Miss Massachusetts’ Outstanding Teen page and tickets can be purchased through an Eventbrite link. Tickets are $15.00 for adults; $10.00 for ages 5-14 and free for children under 5. Tickets may also be purchased the day of the event at the gate.
