Lessons are available for beginners just getting comfortable in the pool all the way up to swimmers looking to improve their technique.

🌲 Island Creek Day Hike + Overnight Backpacking Adventure 🥾

Looking to get outside this weekend? The New Bern Outdoor Adventure Club is hosting a day hike and optional overnight backpacking trip at Island Creek in the Croatan National Forest on Saturday, March 14.

Day Hike:
🥾 Meet at the Island Creek Trailhead at 8:45 AM
🚶‍♂️ Hike begins at 9:00 AM and explores the Island Creek trail loops. Great opportunity to enjoy the forest and bring a friend along.

Overnight Backpacking Trip:
🎒 Meet back at the trailhead at 1:30 PM
🌲 Backpackers depart at 2:00 PM for an overnight stay at a secluded spot along Island Creek.

Those planning to backpack should come fully prepared and self-sufficient, including camping gear, food, water (or a water filter), and other essentials. Participants will follow Leave No Trace principles while on the trip.

⚠️ Things to know:
• Parking at the trailhead is limited — carpool if possible
• No indoor restroom facilities are available
• Each hiker is responsible for their own equipment, food, water, and transportation

📍 Location: Island Creek Trail (Island Creek Forest Walk)
Island Creek Road, Croatan National Forest
Near Pollocksville, NC
