On Thursday, June 29, 2023, most Justice of the Peace Court locations will be closed due to a Court Conference. Only Justice of the Peace Court 11 (New Castle County), Court 7 (Kent County) and Court 3 (Sussex County) will remain open. All court locations will resume regular operations on Friday, June 30, 2023 at 8:00 a.m.

On Monday, June 19, 2023, most Justice of the Peace Court locations will be closed in recognition of Juneteenth. Only Justice of the Peace Court 11 (New Castle County), Court 7 (Kent County) and Court 3 (Sussex County) will remain open.

Justice of the Peace Court 2 will be moving to a new location effective June 14, 2023. Therefore, JP Court 2 will be closed for business June 12-13, 2023. Court 2 will resume normal operations on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at its new location located at 16283 Willow Creek Rd., Lewes, DE 19958. The phone number for Court 2 will remain the same which is (302) 645-6163.

Maintenance has been scheduled at Justice of the Peace Court 11, 2 Penns Way, New Castle for Saturday, May 20, 2023. Therefore, Court 11 will be closed on Saturday, May 20th from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. All matters including videophone will be diverted to Court 9 during these hours. Normal business hours will resume at Court 11 at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2023.
