Public safety and community engagement across Johnson County is in full swing. "How can we serve our community better?".... Continued learning/training, strong partnerships and collaboration with community leadership/local law enforcement agencies and most importantly connections with the citizens that make up our great county.

Rides to school with JCSO is the perfect way for young scholars to start their day. Nicholas, Henry, Malachai, Jude, Adaline and Paisley, the pleasure was all ours. Enjoy your summer!

This year marked the 7th annual Ride for the Fallen Memorial. JCSO is proud to participate and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

A Friday night in March brought together volunteers and teens for pizza and conversations at Tyler's House KC. Tyler's house offers a place for teens to build friendships, express creativity and grow unique inspiring talents.

Promotions, recognitions/awards and graduations are direct reflections of the confidence placed in individuals within the JCSO. Shout out to Colonel Erik Smith, superintendent of the Kansas Highway Patrol, for serving as the class speaker. Congratulations to the 24th JCSO Basic Academy class!

The JCSO Shootout partnered with Special Olympics Kansas in April for the annual event raising more than $11,000 benefiting the Brandon Collins Memorial Fund and athletes around the county.

Bring in the Guards! To better understand the National Guards role and how they support those who serve, the Black Hawk orientation flight program hosted a flight and presentation to learn more about the Guards mission. THANK YOU, what an amazing experience!

As your sheriff, I want to reaffirm my commitment to maintaining law and order while treating every member of our community with fairness, dignity and respect.

When it comes to matters of immigration enforcement, our focus remains on upholding the law within the boundaries of our authority, ensuring that our actions align with both state and federal guidelines. We will continue to prioritize public safety for all residents and address issues that threaten the well-being of our community.

At the same time, we recognize that trust and cooperation between law enforcement and the people we serve are vital. Our deputies are dedicated to protecting everyone who calls this county home, regardless of background, and to working with community members to ensure that our neighborhoods remain safe, strong and united.

Together we will continue to uphold justice while standing with the community we proudly serve.
