Ron Reynolds, New Ellenton City Councilman

Ron Reynolds, New Ellenton City Councilman I believe that Change is needed in the City of New Ellenton and as a local business owner I feel that I have the experience to move us forward.

I grew up and have lived most of my life in the City of New Ellenton. I moved away for several years for work and now I find myself back in New Ellenton as a small business owner. I feel that my prior experience in Middle to Senior Management of several Fortune 500 Companies allows me the opportunity to lead this city and move it forward in a positive light. I would like to see this city no longer be a "Drive Through" but a destination for people to come to for residency, shopping and dining. If you have ideas of how to move this city forward or questions about my position on city business please do not hesitate to reach out to me at either of the following: 803-439-8515 or [email protected] Focus Areas for when elected: * I believe that transparency and a structured governement. Working with the City Administrator to help with the day to day operations, seek out and apply for available grants to the city, continue to work on updating city ordinances. *Continue to Focus on Goals and Objectives for city employees. We have to hold ourselves accountable and then move forward to holding city employees accountable. I believe that with the new Empoyee Evaluation Form this will start to take place. *Create a New Ellenton Business Guild to attract and work with current business owners to allow them to participate in upcoming events and city government. *Maintain the Economic Development Sub-Committees that will allow our city to move forward into tomorrow and look good doing it. *Establish a Social Media (Facebook, Twitter and Instgram) site for the City. This will allow all city residents to keep current on all issues and events going on in the city. This will also be a first stop for citizens to gain current events. *Create monthly events in the city to utilize the revitalized city facilities and bring the community back to the community for such activities as: family movie night, Atomic City Festival, community wide fitness program, Annual Easter hunt, Bark in the Park for animal lovers, Trunk and Treat, July 4th Celebration, Summer Concert Series and Youth/Young Adult Sports and Summer Camps. *Being accessible to the city for issues and concerns as well as suggestions as to how to bring new industry, business and events.

While I am not a constituent of SC House District 84, I urge those that are to vote for Melissa Oremus. Melissa is a conservative that has a voice and is ready to stand up for District 84. She has an A rating with the NRA and will ensure that your voice is heard on many issues. While I know many folks who live in 84 she has your best interest at heart. Melissa is a hard worker and business owner. I urge all District 84 to vote Melissa Oremus for SC House District 84 primary on Tuesday. #oremusforSCHouse

Today will be a trying day for a lot of people. Some will celebrate. Some will rage. Some will boycott. Some will look on with pride. Whichever you are, please respect one another. Don't be hurtful. Instead be mindful of each other. We are all Americans. United we stand. Divided we Fall. America is a nation where, while we might not agree politically, we all come together in the end. I remember seeing a lot of the same type banter just 4 and 8 years ago but look how, after it was all said and done, we got along. If you don't agree with the decisions that are being made remember, one person doesn't run the country. Get involved, only if you voted, and call your elected officials when things are about to come to a vote and voice your opinion.

Defining loyalty: Beth Porter Yonce - Aiken Standard

Thanks for the loyalty and love for our town!!!

Beth Porter Yonce is almost an institution at two places: New Ellenton, and Talatha Baptist Church. Beth’s Beauty Salon is along what is informally called “hair salons alley,” right next to Olivia’s and A New U, at 407 North Main Street.

Aiken Standard

I voted against this when it was 1% and I voted against this for the 2% as well. I think that we need to look at other avenues to help fund youth sports and ensure that we are maintaining the community center effectively as we haven't been in the past. I believe that we should ensure that the fees paid by youth sports are aligned to ensure that it covers all cost to maintain the teams and fields. I was the sole person to vote against this for 1% and 2% tax hike. We were told that "most" people that eat in New Ellenton are "out of towners" but I want to see factual proof of that. I want to see numbers. Councilman McDuffie and Mayor Dunbar told me all they had to do was look at lunch and they didn't need facts. I want to make sure that we are NOT driving businesses out of New Ellenton and we are being welcoming. Approximately 9% tax on prepared foods is not welcoming.

Eating in New Ellenton? You'll now be paying a 2% percent hospitality tax, rather than a 1% tax.

Beth I am very happy for you in YOUR new location. Best of luck!!!!

Beth I am very happy for you in YOUR new location. Best of luck!!!!

It's not very often in a small town that you find someone that has been in business almost 40 years. I am more than elated to congratulate Beth's Beauty Shop on her newest venture. Beth has been in my family for as long as I can remember. Mom worked for Beth when she was on Risher Ave for many years. I can remember walking up through the woods to the shop to see them both during the summer. Then several years ago Beth made the move to Main St. Now she makes the move just 2 doors down to the old library building. Beth I couldn't be more happy for you in this, your new venture. Thank for continuing to invest in our community.
