Good morning, Monday! I usually would have had my morning post up a bit earlier. It's not as if I haven't been awake for long enough. It's not as if I don't have pictures I've already processed that I couldn't have posted. My reasoning starts with yesterday morning. I spent sunrise on Stonington Harbor. It was not one of those amazing sunrises that most photographers travel to capture, but it was lovely to be there. Processing one of those would have been my regular routine. (You'll see them eventually.) But yesterday, instead of taking the easy way out and driving home and staying there, I landed, then travelled some more, and went to New Harbor. All the cloud cover maps and predictions suggested sunset had the potential to be amazing. I thought about going to a closer destination, Marshall Point, but the cloud cover wouldn't be there in time. So, because I hadn't already done more than my share of driving for the day (sarcasm), I went. It was beautiful and worth the extra miles and even worth the drive home in the dark on roads that looked like they were getting black ice. My mother's voice, "Watch out for black ice!", rang in my head throughout the drive home. So, this morning I wanted to share this one. As beautiful as the sunset was, the highlight of going there was seeing my friends, Deb and Jim Hazell, and that's priceless.
If you don't go, you'll never know. Try, try, try!
Make your day great!
