WHAT: The NWS Lake Charles indicates that a low-pressure system in the Gulf has the potential to become a tropical low in the next few hours. The current wind speed is 35 mph.

WHEN: The system is expected to make landfall in southwest Louisiana or southeastern Texas Tuesday morning.

WHERE: Southwest Louisiana (Cameron Parish) or Southeastern Texas (Jefferson County)

IMPACTS: Chances favor rainfall amounts to be between 0 to 1.55 inches and should affect Iberia Parish throughout Monday night and Tuesday morning. Pockets of heavier rain totals are possible. The National Weather Service is predicting that surge will be between 1 and 3 feet but Iberia Parish is not currently forecast to be affected by surge. NWS is currently predicting surge to occur somewhere between San Luis Pass and the Vermilion/Iberia line.

ACTIONS REQUIRED: Impact to Iberia Parish is expected to be minor but residents are asked to stay informed through local media.
