Today I celebrate my natural hair journey. It’s really not about the hair, but it’s about the story behind the journey. In August of 2020, when God gave me the greenlight to start, KEYS Ministry, I honestly did not know that my obedience and my step of faith, would lead me to the role of becoming a Pastor.
The enemy begin to attacking my life, the moment I gave God my yes. He began to attack my health, my children, my family, my relationship, friendships, finances, home, transportation. The details behind every obstacle, all I can say is… thank You God for keeping me.
God took me on a journey of prayer, fasting, and meditation. It seems like the more I prayer, fasting, and meditation the more the enemy attack. God was calling me to go deeper in prayer, fasting, and meditation.
There was times I would prayer, fasting, and meditation for weeks. I begin to start losing my hair, it was coming out by the hand full. 8 of 2024, with much prayer I decided to do the big chop. I cut all my hair off. No one knew, because I was wearing hair extensions, that would look all most like my hair length and texture. I wanted to look as natural as possible, which remains my goal.
I’m happy to say after two years when I cut my hair off, it was a spiritual decision, to cut off some things and people. It was not easy, and to this day it’s still not easy letting go. But I now understand my calling, my assignment, and the journey to get there.
If what no longer serving my purpose and does help me to grow natural and spiritually, God says cut it off. As my hair began to grow back. I begin to grow spiritually stronger and as my hair strengthen, I begin to strengthen spiritually.
God did not only restore my hair, but he has a plan to restore everything in my life. I’m not celebrating my hair journey. I’m celebrating what God is done in my life. The best is still yet to come, and He is still writing my story and I can’t wait to tell it someday…. 🙌🏽
