Come celebrate El Camino Real Day at the Helton Nature Park, We are excited to partner with the Wilson County Adoption and Rescue Services organization to offer you a 5K trail race and 5K Canicross race on one of the very few publicly accessible section of our National Historic Trail, with all the proceeds going to their mission to rescue abandoned and lost animals and providing care for them while awaiting their forever homes. What better way to celebrate El Camino Real Day! And to top it off the San Antonio River Authority is holding their annual Fall Festival that same day at the same park…a two-fer!! We are here at the Wilson County Heritage Festival!

The Wilson County History & Heritage Festival will take place on April 18th from 10 AM to 5 PM at the Floresville Event Center located at 600 State Highway 97, Floresville, Texas 78114.

Our Trail de Flores Chapter of El Camino Real de los Tejas NHT Association will have a table at the event and conduct a presentation. There will also be other presentations, reenactments, demonstrations, and food trucks.

The event is free, so get out to learn more about the history of Wilson County and El Camino Real de los Tejas National Historic Trail!
