The Regional Transit Authority operates buses, streetcars, ferries, and Paratransit in the New Orleans area. Our mission is to provide safe, dependable, efficient transit services to the residents of and visitors to the greater New Orleans region, through investment in infrastructure and service to expand access to opportunities, to build a more resilient community, and to protect the cultural, social, and economic well being of our community through mobility. Our vision is to become the region’s preferred mobility provider by building a transportation network focused on equitable service delivery, regional connectivity, and a forward-looking emphasis on the customer experience. The RTA will introduce schedule adjustments on the St. Charles Streetcar and some bus routes.

The 2025 Eno MAX Cohort recently visited the New Orleans Regional Transit Authority’s Carrollton Streetcar Barn for a behind-the-scenes look at the craftsmanship, skill and dedication that keep our streetcars moving.
Transit professionals from MARTA, Sound Transit and DART joined us to exchange ideas, explore challenges and innovations, and learn from one another across agencies.
Our transit colleagues also had the opportunity to hear directly from the skilled craftsmen of RTA’s Rail Maintenance team—the people whose expertise and hard work help keep New Orleans moving every day.
We’re proud to share our people, our work and a little New Orleans transit history with fellow professionals from across the country!
