This summer, RTA welcomed five outstanding interns from YouthForce NOLA for a five-week internship experience led by Dawn D. Lapeyrolerie, RTA’s Director of Workforce Development and Workforce Development Specialist, Y’Esha Williams. Throughout the program, our interns gained hands-on experience with our team members, across departments including Community Engagement, Safety & Emergency Management and Transportation Planning and Scheduling Initiatives. Interns learned directly from RTA professionals and strengthened their leadership and communications skills. They also experienced our transit system firsthand by riding each mode of transportation.

Interns completed a final capstone project, putting their knowledge, creativity and teamwork into action to help develop ideas that will provide meaningful contributions for our riders and in the communities we serve. RTA is proud to partner with YouthForce NOLA and support the professional development of emerging talent in transit and public service careers.
