The most precious gift is LIFE. All LIFE is created in the image and likeness of God. He created each one of us with a specific purpose for His plan. Seventeen years ago while sitting in the NICU with my third child and seeing so many fragile infants being cared for by loving nurses and doctors, God placed an imprint and purpose in my heart! That purpose was to become a voice for those in need - the unborn, their parents, the elderly, the homeless, those with disabilities, those who are incarcerated, each other, and ourselves... So began “Choose the Child”. I believe that I am called to educate myself and others on the importance of respecting all LIFE and treating every person (born and unborn) with dignity, compassion, and truth. I am committed to doing this through my “Footprints for Life” Program for children and my “Imprint” community outreach program. Our “Footprints for Life” Program recently received the Imprimatur by Most Reverend Gregory M. Aymond of the Archdiocese of New Orleans! “Choose the Child” was chosen as the name of the ministry because of the emphasis that God places on children. Each one of us was created as an infant - including God, who chose to enter this earth as an unborn baby. Jesus said that “Amen, I say to you, whoever does not accept the kingdom of God like a child* will not enter it. “ Mark 10:15 When we look at the world through a child’s eyes we see joy, hope, and love. I believe that it is important for each of us to look at each person through a child’s eyes and truly see how we can make an imprint. Let’s just start with a prayer.... In addition, when St. Gianna Molla, our Patron Saint was given the choice between her life and her child’s life, she said, “choose the child.” This life-giving and life-saving moment has saved and changed lives. I pray that St. Gianna will help each of us see the ways we can be life-giving so that we can save lives daily through the smallest of actions. Thank you for taking time to learn more about our ministry. Please feel free to contact Natasia at [email protected] for more information. Do small things with GREAT love... Mother Theresa
