The Goshen Painter’s Guild and Elkhart County Parks invite you to spend your summer painting in Elkhart County! Go out and do some Plein Air Painting in any of the eligible park locations listed below between June 13th – July 23rd and submit your finished work for a Juried Art Show with cash prizes to take place at the Goshen Painter’s Guild on Fri. The show will be part of Goshen First Fridays an

d will include a Silent Auction as well. There will also be a one day Quick Paint Competition at DeFries Gardens from 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM on Sat. Eligible Parks:

Bonneyville Mill County Park
Ox Bow County Park
Cobus Creek County Park
Treasure Island
River Preserve County Park (includes DeFries Gardens, Baintertown Dam, Benton Spillway)

Artists can paint in the parks from 9 AM – 9 PM daily. Visit www.goshenpaintersguild.org for Rules, Registration forms, and more information or email [email protected] or call 574-349-0820 after 6 PM Weekdays. If you are plan on participating in the 6 week Paint Out please email [email protected] so we have an idea of how many artists are participating.

Tomorrow is the day! Stop by the Goshen Painter's Guild during First Friday tomorrow night from 5-9 PM and see the artwork painted in the Elkhart County Parks by local artists! You can bid on the artwork in the Silent Auction until 7:45 PM and awards will be given out at 8 PM.

We will also take paintings tomorrow from 12-12:30 at the Goshen Painter's Guild Studio. That is the LAST CHANCE though.

Don't forget artists, today is your LAST CHANCE to drop off your artwork for the Plein Air in the Parks Juried Show on Aug. 5th. Bring it to the Goshen Painter's Guild Studio at 212 W. Washington St. in Goshen from 5 - 7 PM. There is a $150 prize for the Extended Paint Out, a $100 Prize for the Quick Paint Out, and a $50 Prize for the People's Choice which will be voted on by visitors at the show. We cannot take any more paintings after tonight as they will be judged tomorrow evening!

Don't miss out on your chance to show your work to a potentially large audience during Goshen's First Friday and have it for sale in the Silent Auction or to win an award.

Don't forget to join us this Saturday from 9:30 - 12:30 for the Quick Paint Competition at DeFries Gardens! Registration begins at 8:30 AM and cost is $20 which allows you to enter to paintings into the Juried Art Show on Fri. Aug. 15th. Cash prizes will be awarded.

Today I visited and painted at Bonneyville Mill Park in Bristol. If you haven't been there to paint yet check it out! There's the historic Mill built in 1832, the quilt barn and windmill, a great garden, and some great views of the river and a small waterfall to paint.
