From 2022–2023, The Lighthouse in Hudson served as a safe drop-in center for neighbors experiencing homelessness. With a “come as you are” approach, people could access food, showers, clothing, mail, support, and community without judgment.
Through partnerships with churches, nonprofits, community members, and local leaders, we connected neighbors to housing, medical care, recovery resources, and employment support. We saw lives begin to change.
But one truth became impossible to ignore: you can’t reduce homelessness without housing, and you can’t stay housed without income.
After Hurricanes Idalia, Helene, and Milton, housing instability in Pasco County grew even worse, leaving more families, seniors, and youth vulnerable.
That’s why Be A Light is building a housing + work program focused on stable housing, job training, construction, farming, manufacturing, and pathways to entrepreneurship. We believe in reinvesting in people and creating long-term solutions that strengthen our whole community.
We can’t do this alone. We need churches, businesses, nonprofits, civic leaders, funders, and neighbors to come alongside us.
Join us in building a better future for Pasco County.
