Quakerdale Eagles Basketball is part of the Promise Academy which consists of Christ-Centered Learning Communities dedicated to Connecting Knowledge to Life Experiences. Eagle Basketball seeks to provide opportunities for growth to young men. Each season, the Eagle’s coach hits the road to find the right athletes to become part of the Eagles. These young men come from all over the country and have
at least one thing in common. They didn’t get the offer to play basketball at the next level that they were hoping for. This is usually due to immaturity in skills, physical stature, or they are not through the NCAA Clearinghouse due to academics. For some, we just don’t know why. But this where Quakerdale Basketball excels. We work on the whole athlete; academic readiness, leadership, spiritual growth, and overall maturity. Many players get bigger, faster and stronger just because time has passed and we have given them the opportunity to grow and they have seized the opportunities. Does the program work? While there are no guaranties that players will be signed anywhere, each year we have players go on and become members of Division I teams, such as IUPUI, Mississippi Valley State, West Michigan, Central Arkansas, Illinois State and Oklahoma. Others have gone on to play for great Division II school, and excellent junior colleges.
