Homebuyers must have a need for affordable housing, demonstrate the ability to make an affordable mortgage payment, and be willing to partner with Habitat throughout the homeownership process.

🌎 From Southeast Volusia to Guatemala! 🇬🇹

Last week, four members of the Southeast Volusia Habitat family had the opportunity to take Habitat's mission beyond our own community.

From August 4–8, Executive Director Mark, Director of Construction John, longtime construction volunteer Mike, and ReStore team member Matt joined Habitat for Humanity of Broward for a Global Village experience in Guatemala.

Their trip took them through Guatemala City, Antigua and Chimaltenango, where they spent time working on a Habitat home, connecting with fellow Habitat volunteers and experiencing the people, culture and incredible beauty of Guatemala.

We're grateful to Habitat for Humanity of Broward for welcoming our crew onto their team and giving us the opportunity to be part of this experience!

And it sounds like this won't be the last time Southeast Volusia Habitat makes the trip. We're already looking ahead to the possibility of organizing our own Global Village Build in 2027! 🏠💙

No matter where we build, the mission remains the same: bringing people together to build homes, communities and hope.

Volunteers, local businesses and Southeast Volusia Habitat for Humanity came together to help one local build a place to call home. Sometimes all it takes is a hammer, a nail gun and a handful of people willing to give up a Saturday morning to remind you what a community is supposed to look like.
