We are so excited to announce our next new Youth Policy Cabinet in NY with Assembly member (AM) Jenifer Rajkumar!

AM Rajkumar represents District 38, which includes Woodhaven, Forest Park, and Glendale. She currently serves as the Chair of the Subcommittee on Diversity in Law. Rajkumar has dedicated her career to promoting public safety, transportation reform, and making the law accessible and fair to all. She is a former civil rights lawyer, and made history as the first South-Asian American woman to be elected to state office.

We are extremely excited to be working with AM Rajkumar and her office this upcoming year! If you are an interested student who either lives in or attends schools in assembly District 38, keep an eye out for an application to join her YPC coming soon!

As you might already know, we have been busy with our ongoing expansion effort to bring YPCs to students and communities across the nation. With that being said, we’re extremely excited to announce operations in our third state—North Carolina!

Our team has been working hard to establish brand new YPCs throughout the state, so stay tuned for more updates in the coming days about the various legislators we will be partnering with!

We are so excited to announce another brand new Youth Policy Cabinet in New York with Assembly member (AM) Rebecca Seawright!

AM Seawright represents District 76, which includes Yorkville, Roosevelt Island, Lenox Hill, and part of the Upper East Side. She currently serves as the Chair of the Assembly Taskforce on Women’s Issues. Furthermore, she has dedicated her career to promoting sustainability, gaining funding for public projects, and affordable housing improvements. She supports women’s rights initiatives and had received many awards throughout her time in the assembly for her exemplary work.

We are extremely excited to be working with AM Seawright and her office in the upcoming year! If you are an interested student who either lives in or attends schools in assembly District 76, keep an eye out for an application to join her YPC coming soon!

We are so excited to announce our next new Youth Policy Cabinet in New York with State Senator Jessica Ramos!

Senator Ramos represents District 13, which includes East Elmhurst, Jackson Heights, and the Corona areas. She currently serves as the Chair of the Committee on Labor. Furthermore, Senator Ramos has devoted her career to community based policy making, and to reforming public transit, rent laws, and the public education system. She also supports small business and minority rights initiatives.

We are extremely excited to be working with the Senator and her office in the upcoming year! If you are an interested student who either lives in or attends schools in District 13, keep an eye out for an application to join Senator Ramos’ YPC coming soon!

We at Project NextGen are very excited to host our democracy camp!

Our 3-week summer intensive course aims to provide students with an introductory civic education, hone fundamental skills and a forum to discuss and learn about current events affecting them and their communities.

Our camp will take place from July 12th to July 30th virtually, and all middle school students in the New York metropolitan area are encouraged to apply!
