COMMUNITY ADVISORY: Ceremonial Cannon Firings
Please be advised that USAG Fort Hamilton will be conducting several ceremonial cannon firings over the coming weeks!
These are in preparation for, and in celebration of, the International Naval Review 250 in honor of America’s 250th Birthday. 🇺🇸
Community members should anticipate loud noises associated with these scheduled firings. Please share this with neighbors and those who may be sensitive to loud sounds.
Schedule of Firings (Times subject to change):
Wed, June 24 (10:00 AM - 3:00 PM): Several brief test fires of three ceremonial howitzer cannons.
Tue, June 30 (4:15 PM - 4:45 PM): Cannons will be fired to salute a ship as it enters The Narrows.
Wed, July 1 (11:00 AM - 1:00 PM): Cannons will be fired to salute additional ships as they enter The Narrows.
Sat, July 4 (9:15 AM - 10:15 AM AND 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM): Multiple ceremonial cannons will be fired during the USAG Fort Hamilton "Salute to Ships" ceremony.
