We’re proud to spotlight David Gruber, member of the Board of Directors at the Harlem Gallery of Science, for his groundbreaking work with Project CETI and the recent global recognition of its s***m whale research.

Published in the journals Science and Scientific Reports, the study includes one of the most detailed observations of a s***m whale birth in the wild, revealing extraordinary social behavior and caregiving among female whales. The research has been featured by major global outlets including The New York Times, National Geographic, Reuters, CNN, and the Associated Press.

🎮 IT’S BACK: Video Games: The Great Connector returns to CCNY!

We’re reopening the doors for an immersive, hands-on exhibition exploring video games, storytelling, and STEAM learning.

⏳ Group registration closes in 24 hours (Friday, April 24 at noon!)
📅 Exhibition runs April 27–May 1
📍 City College of New York, Harlem

Middle & high school groups can experience interactive stations, game design features, and more. Public walk-in hours are also available each afternoon from 4–6 PM.

As a docent for Video Games: The Great Connector, Lily helps visitors explore how games foster connection through storytelling, visuals, and shared experience.

A senior studying 3D Character Art at , she was drawn to CCNY for its strong arts program, rich history, and diverse community.

Lily is inspired by the power of art to communicate without words, using visuals to express emotion, perspective, and meaning in immersive ways.

Through her work as a docent, she’s seen firsthand how important shared creative spaces are, especially for students seeking connection and belonging.

Art and culture are the heart and soul of New York, and we’re proud to be among the nearly 1,200 groups receiving city support this year thanks to the partnership between the NYC Mayor’s Office and the City Council.

A sophomore studying computer science at , he’s passionate about the power of games to inspire learning and build community.

Jason hopes to become an XR software engineer focused on gaming and education, creating interactive experiences that make learning more engaging and accessible.
