Happy Child Care Educator Appreciation Month!

Last night, we celebrated New York City’s declaration of May as Child Care Educator Appreciation Month at our Child Care and Early Childhood Educator Appreciation Dinner.

Thank you to all the early childhood providers and educators who joined us, and for everything you do every single day for our city’s youngest learners.

Our child care providers and educators lay the foundation that sets our students up for lifelong success.

Thank you to and this administration for their continued focus on early childhood care and education.

I also want to thank Deputy Chancellor of the Division of Early Childhood Education Simone Hawkins and Executive Director of the Mayor’s Office of Child Care Emmy Liss for their leadership and commitment to championing our youngest learners.

A Big Step for NYC, Starting with The LIttle Apple!

New York City’s first FREE child care pilot program for municipal workers now has a name: The Little Apple!

This exciting new program will serve approximately 40 children and will be administered by Imagine Early Learning Center!

Key Dates:
- Applications open: April 30 – May 15
- Selected participants will be notified in June
- Those selected will join a full-day, full-year program designed to support working families

The Little Apple is just the beginning.

Good news for child care providers: permitting just got easier.

The Child Care Permitting Portal is now available for new Article 47 license applications.

Providers can now:

• Chat live with support staff
• Upload documents online
• Book inspections online
• Track where you are in the process

Less paperwork stress. More clarity.

Free child care is on the way for more families!

Parents in Districts 6, 10, 18, 23, and 27 will soon be able to apply for the City’s first 2-K program.

Here’s the timeline:

- Applications run from June 2 through June 26
- Offers are released in August

Summer plans are important, just not as important as your 2-K application!
