Rise and Resist We are taking direct action together for equality, justice, and human rights. We are rising against oppression and tyranny. We are building a better world.

Rise and Resist, formed in response to the 2016 US election, is a direct action group made up of both new and experienced activists committed to opposing, disrupting, and defeating any government act that threatens democracy, equality, and our civil liberties. We work collaboratively, creatively, respectfully, and with all the joy we can muster for the health of the people and the planet. We rejec

t State sanctioned violence, bigotry, and systemic discrimination in all its forms, including those directed at people because of their disability, gender identity/expression, immigration status, race, religion, sex, and sexuality. 26 Federal Plaza houses many DHS and ICE offices as well as immigration courts.

Every Friday we hold space, speak the names of, and give some background on those killed by ICE. Immigrants (and Americans) are not only murdered by ICE agents but are also killed by being abandoned in the street and by medical neglect.

This Tuesday, August 18, marks FIVE YEARS of Rise and Resist’s weekly protests outside Fox Lies headquarters in midtown Manhattan. FIVE YEARS of calling out Rupert Murdoch’s toxic rightwing lies!

Photos of our Fox protests have been seen in every major U.S. newspaper and magazine, in hundreds of articles worldwide, and many times on national TV news. Hell, we even had a segment on the Daily Show!
But more importantly, our protests have been seen in out-of-state newspapers—in Idaho, northern Michigan, and Chattanooga TN, to name a few. Because THIS IS WHERE OUR MESSAGE MUST REACH to let Americans know WE CAN FIGHT BACK AGAINST RIGHT WING PROPAGANDA!

EVERYONE, EVERYWHERE can take action:

NO PARKING FOR ICE – ANYTIME, ANYWHERE!
NEW YORK IS A SANCTUARY CITY!

● Today Rise and Resist ID’d and called out ICE kidnap vehicles parked on the streets in lower Manhattan as part of an ongoing broad-coalition NO PARKING FOR ICE campaign.

● Dozens of ICE kidnap vehicles park every day on the streets surrounding the ICE field office at 201 Varick — one of NYC’s wealthiest and least vulnerable neighborhoods. New Yorkers need to KNOW about this hornet’s nest of ICE.

● Our coalition exposed ICE parking at the 80 Morton St. Metropolis garage on May 14; in mid-June Rise and Resist first called out ICE abduction vehicles parked around 201 Varick. On July 12 the coalition protested ICE continuing to park at Pier 40 and on Aug 3, ICE’s fleet of brand new vehicles hidden in ICON’s closed and cloaked 35 HARRISON ST. GARAGE.

● WE WILL CONTINUE TO CALL OUT ICE PARKING AND LET THEM KNOW we won’t stand by while they use lower Manhattan as a staging area for abducting our neighbors!

Al is causing great harm —eliminating jobs, spreading disinformation, and accelerating irreversible climate change.

Rise and Resist is returning to Google to demand that Big Tech regulate AI and stop racing headlong to a bleak future.

Get the word out to meet at Google on August 12 at 10pm.

And we’ll keep you posted when to join us in visiting more climate criminals in the weeks ahead
