They are one of the reasons private prisons persist in Georgia and other states, they pay legislators to keep private prisons around. If you don’t know, private prisons are some of the most brutal unaccountable places to be held that you can imagine. Their political house needs to be torn down like yesterday.

BREAKING🚨 A stay-at-home mom in Texas built a website that helped force a $200 billion bank to drop two ICE detention contractors. DHS put it in a secret bulletin about "anarchist extremists."

The website is an interactive Google Map titled "Who is Profiting from ICE?" It plots the companies, law enforcement agencies and politicians tied to the deportation machine, built entirely from corporate filings and public records.

Laura Berlin, a stay-at-home mom of two teenagers, started building it in April 2025 after watching men flown to a Salvadoran prison without due process.

"That situation really haunted me," she said. She wanted to know who owned the charter planes and who owned the detention centers.

She found GEO Group and CoreCivic, awarded nearly $1 billion combined by ICE in 2025.

Then she went looking for who still lends to them and found Citizens Bank, a Rhode Island lender with more than 1,000 branches.

Organizers in Boston found her site and built the De-ICE Citizens Bank Coalition.

Traffic jumped from a few thousand visits to nearly 10 million after an ICE agent shot and killed Renee Good in Minneapolis on January 7.

By June there were 140 protests across 17 states. They bought billboards, showed up at the bank's annual meeting, and hired a pilot to fly a banner over Citizens Bank Park during the All-Star Game.

Jersey City pulled $265 million. Montclair voted to pull $90 million more. Three days later, Citizens announced it was cutting off both contractors, calling it "a business decision based on changed commercial circumstances."

In February, DHS sent law enforcement a bulletin naming her website as information that could be used by "anarchist extremists." The bulletin concedes, in red letters, that "some of this information describes First Amendment-protected activities."

"At first, my stomach dropped," Berlin said. "But then I couldn't help but laugh at the absurdity of it."

DHS did not address the bulletin, saying only that information from local partners "helps sharpen the national threat picture."

BREAKING: 170 Jewish artists, filmmakers, and scholars TORCH Paramount’s antisemitism smear campaign against Mark Ruffalo.

Paramount has been trying to shut down criticism of its billion-dollar merger with Warner Discovery by branding actor and activist Mark Ruffalo as antisemitic. Over 170 Jewish artists, filmmakers, and scholars from Hollywood and beyond just made clear that tactic isn't going to work.

The controversy erupted after Ruffalo criticized the Paramount-Warner Bros. Discovery merger, linking Oracle executive Safra Catz — who sits on Paramount's board — to military technology tied to Israel's war in Gaza. Paramount's response was to accuse Ruffalo of invoking "antisemitic tropes" in "purported service of a business dispute."

A coalition including Joel Coen, Hannah Einbinder, Ilana Glazer, Tony Kushner, and dozens more Jewish creatives fired back with an open letter calling the accusation exactly what it looks like: a "cynical and disgusting lie," in the words of filmmaker Kenneth Lonergan.

The letter didn't mince words: "Enough with the false and dangerous weaponization of charges of antisemitism against those who are brave enough to point out the obvious." Signers argued that connecting corporate media consolidation to Larry Ellison's own publicly stated support for surveillance-driven control — the same Ellison whose family stands to massively benefit from this merger — isn't antisemitism. It's basic scrutiny of concentrated corporate power.

The letter didn't stop at defending Ruffalo. It laid out the receipts: Ellison's reported $350 million in funding to the Tony Blair Institute, Blair's role in the Trump-backed "Board of Peace" plan for Gaza, and Oracle's own public celebration of surveillance technologies deployed there. As the letter puts it bluntly, "the AI road to WarnerMount runs through Gaza."

Crucially, the signatories back their argument with real numbers. The letter cites a recent Washington Post poll showing 61% of American Jews now believe Israel is committing war crimes in Gaza, with 40% agreeing those actions amount to genocide. As the letter pointedly asks: does Paramount seriously believe millions of American Jews holding this view are all antisemites too?

Ilana Glazer put it plainly in her own statement on the matter: "Calling Mark Ruffalo antisemitic because he is questioning a massive corporate merger is not only absurd — it's a dangerous way to shut down legitimate criticism." Ruffalo himself pushed back just as directly, insisting that "criticizing the actions of the Israeli prime minister, a military technology contract, or the executives who supply it is not the same as criticizing Jewish people."

This is what it looks like when a massive media conglomerate, facing legitimate scrutiny over consolidating power, reaches for the laziest, most cynical smear available rather than actually engaging with the substance. Over 170 Jewish voices — rabbis, filmmakers, scholars, actors — just refused to let that tactic go unchallenged.

BREAKING🚨 Chicago just became the FIRST city in the country to CUT OFF city funding for those helping ICE, committing wage theft, or discriminating.

Mayor Brandon Johnson signed the sweeping executive order Wednesday, citing an "unprecedented level of corporate corruption." Chicago currently holds $3.19 billion in contracts with 42 companies that also do business with ICE, according to research from the national campaign that pushed for the order.

The single biggest is with AECOM, the infrastructure consultant overseeing the modernization of O'Hare.

Every current and future contractor and subcontractor now has to certify it hasn't committed a "public integrity violation" in the past five years and doesn't intend to for the length of the contract.

City code already bars contractors convicted of theft, deceit, hate crimes, perjury or treason, but only after a courtroom conviction. The new order counts a finding by an inspector general or an auditor too.

Companies also have to disclose any allegations of excessive force, unlawful detention, unconstitutional policing or discrimination connected to their government contracts. Those disclosures become public, and they can trigger action against the company.

Johnson's team named Palantir. The data company profits from ICE contracts and the war in Gaza, and it is among the corporations footing the bill for Trump's ballroom under construction at the White House.

"We're recognizing that these companies may be engaging in corrupt activities, but for a variety of reasons may not be subject to criminal penalties. Nonetheless, we don't want them doing business with the city of Chicago," said Sheila Bedi, Johnson's chief strategy officer.

The order creates a 12-member Ethical Procurement Standards Task Force and requires companies making more than $1 billion a year to disclose the makeup of their leadership and boards, after the federal EEOC signaled it could stop requiring demographic data at all. Every company also has to report what it's doing to hire and promote formerly incarcerated people.
