📢 Stand with us and our fellow Nonprofits as we oppose a 15% across-the-board budget cut this fiscal year! We're calling on the City to take action:

🛑 Remove the arbitrary 15% budget cut directive and instead adjust the budget based on actual need. Let's provide transparency to the public through a precise analysis.

🤝 Include nonprofits providing essential services and programming across the city in budget planning with OMB and the Office of Nonprofit Services to find innovative solutions for our fiscal challenges.

💡 We urge the City to provide clear information on how they plan to reduce the immediate budget. Everyone must understand the steps being taken.

🏛️ It's time to establish a City Council Committee on Nonprofits that works hand in hand with the Committee on Contracts. This collaboration will support nonprofit sustainability, contract registration, and enhance accountability measures between the City and the nonprofit sector.

Together, let's protect the vital services and programs nonprofits provide our community!

Summer Rising. Social Workers. Restorative Justice. These are just a few of the essential school programs that were launched or expanded by temporary COVID-19 $$ that will run out next June.

We are at a critical juncture. Our elected leaders must choose between allowing these programs to end on their watch—dealing a massive setback to public education—or taking action to identify new funding sources so students can continue receiving critical supports and services. We are counting on our elected leaders to sustain essential education programs and build on the progress made, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of students for years to come.
