On November 10th, 2016, Jamal and Lex were sitting on a couch talking about the election. Jamal said "You know how everyone looks at the first 100 days of a new administration to see what the next four year is going to look like?"
And Lex said, "Yes." And Jamal said "what if artists all over America said 'this is what we're doing for the first 100 days?"
And Lex said, "Like a blueprint? Like our
first 100 days?"
And they agreed that it was a great idea.

The Other 100 Days Project encourages artists (and Americans) to share what they're doing for the first 100 days of the new administration. It's pretty easy. Share whatever content you're creating (of any medium at all) and hashtag it . If you're a painter, rapper, writer, poet, dancer, sculptor, actor, director, photographer, editor, singer, musician, costume designer, graphic designer, architect, gardener - we are all a community. If you sing in a church choir, work with an after-school program, body paint at parties, or organize raves: we believe your work has value. What will we be doing in this first 100 days that will show anyone who wants to look what to expect from us for the next (at least) 4 years as a member of this country? This is not a "call to action" the way many other (super valuable) groups have asked us to step up (and we agree, absolutely do those things!)
We believe that art IS action. And since we are all ALREADY making the art, we thought we might amplify the experiences of the people creating and receiving the work by this simple act of connection. Together we hope to create a blueprint of what the next four years will look like if we flip the lens from looking at the government to looking at its citizens. So....what does your first 100 days look like?
