New York Hispanics in Real Estate and Construction Association

New York Hispanics in Real Estate and Construction Association We also wanted to maintain our roots with our respective communities and with our culture by returning back to our roots.

HREC was founded in 1996 by a group of Hispanic American and migrant business people, managers, professionals and students who wanted to see real changes which would allow us to prosper on an equal footing with the rest of our industries. HREC has met frequently with federal, state and local government officials such as the United State Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the United

State Small Business Administration (SBA), the United States Department of Transportation, the New York and New Jersey Port Authority and New York City Housing Authority to bring about reform in contract procurement procedures. We have also successfully fought for the inclusion of Hispanic owned real estate, building, architectural, engineering and construction in both public and private projects and have been instrumental in developing new and fairer procedures for public bidding and requisition.
