At age 20, standing on the shoulders of giants at the height of the HIV/AIDS crisis, and blessed to partner, collaborate and work with great leaders (men, women, youth, civil society, churches, grassroots based organizations, international partners both bilateral and multilateral) to launch and implement multisectoral, multistakeholder partnerships to address the AIDS pandemic. But it was the work of the Gabane Home-Based Careworkers, a mostly women-led organization, that inspired me to become a Development Economist. And of course Tata Nelson Mandela, to whom I am forever grateful for believing in me enough to come to Botswana to launch our work. And for bringing Mama Grace Machel as a surprise.
