I wanted to give it the night to process, but I want to thank the people of Newark for the opportunity to continue to serve our community. It was a great night last night as Republicans swept the open council seats to a 7-3 majority and the mayor maintained his seat. Congrats to Jeff Hall, Jeff Harris, Ryan Bubb, and Matt George on their campaigns and I look forward to working with them in the future. Also want to thank my support system: Meghan, Willow, Linda, Michael, Erin, and Millie on the team Fraizer side and all of those individuals that financial, physically, and spiritually supported me during the campaign: your support is vital. A special thanks to the Republican council members of past and Present on their support as well. I hope to continue to serve honorably and in the best interests of Newark; thank you for your support.

With two days left I would like to remind everyone that the Licking County Board of Elections allows for voting from 8am to 2pm at the Licking County Building. On Tuesday, polls are open at 6:30am to 7:30pm and you can lookup your location at the Locking County Board of Elections or click the link at my homepage at www.reelectmarkfraizer.com to perform a voter search. I hope that you will use this opportunity to voice your opinion and I hope that I have earned your trust for another term. Because of the advocate policy limiting to 250 Words and lumping my article with other political op-Ed’s: I posted a picture of this post of a paper copy.
I will continue to work diligently to legislate and improve the City of Newark.

A great day today, we have spent the last few years working on a revitalized North Street Park and the dedication today was a reflection of the support and collaboration required to make this possible. A special thanks to Barbara Gilkes, Jeff Hotchkiss, Streets Department, Mark Mauter, Dave Rhodes, Mayor Jeff Hall, Bob Meldahl, the HHCA, and many others to make this all possible. Our community is greatly improved with shared spaces for all to use so feel free to come down and enjoy!

Here is my letter to the editor for 2019, I hope you will support 4 more years of my involvement on council as we have much more work to do. This community has developed, educated and elected me and I hope to continue to bring solutions to the city.

Thank you for your support,

“Fraizer requests four more years:
Over the last four years I have served as an At-Large Councilman representing the City of Newark. I have spent this time focusing on improving our community and legislating to increase opportunities for all citizens. My objective in office has always been to serve the needs of our community and maintain a solution-oriented focus to resolve the issues our community faces.

After the 2015 election, Newark council’s Republican majority began working hard to correct issues, promote intergovernmental cooperation, and stabilize the affairs of our city. Too often political grandstanding and talking points get in the way of the critical role of passing good legislation and informing the citizenry about the government. I have spent great effort to understand our local government, the essential documents that operate the City, build consensus with my peers, and ensure changes best serve the people of Newark. During this time, we have expanded tax credit opportunities for citizens, performed major infrastructure projects, revitalized key areas, and remained fiscally responsible creating a sustainable and secure local economy and government.

The City has seen significant investment and we see on-going opportunity with a revitalized downtown, re-imagined Cherry Valley Hotel and Longaberger Basket, and improvements in our parks and neighborhoods to further improve the lives of all citizens. I request to continue to serve the community that has educated and elected me to improve the city I call home. I hope that I have earned your vote and continue to make you proud.

Newark City Councilman and Republican Candidate for Newark City Council At-Large”

There is a new industry picking up which is great news for Newark, the hospitality industry. Seeing the earlier news about the basket and this article about the Cherry Valley Hotel and Ohio Expo Center it is very encouraging to see these investments to come to fruition. We had a small part of developing a cooperative agreement via council with the Cherry Valley Hotel and in the coming years we will have improved Bed Tax Revenue; which can then be used to advance our community with additional investment. I hope you are as encouraged as I am that our community is moving in the right direction.

The waterpark and name "lodge" are out. The event space and "hotel" are in, as the renovated Cherry Valley Hotel unveiled its new look on Thursday.

It is a surprise for me to say that I have been endorsed by the Newark Advocate.

They seemed to have improved their opinion of me from 2015 (ranking me 5th out of 6):
“One of two newcomers in this campaign, Fraizer impressed the board with his strong command of the city's top issues. He's clearly conservative, would support Hall's agenda, if Hall is re-elected, and would become a strong voice on the council. But we also found him to be overly aggressive in his comments, raising concerns about his willingness to consider all sides.“
Here is 2019:
“Councilman Mark Fraizer (corrected for spelling), a Republican, brings a strong financial mind to the council and has gained an excellent understanding of city operations in just one term. In that term he has been a wild card championing things ranging from a ban on circuses to an alternative tax increase (other) than the one ultimately attempted by the city. We appreciate his ability to think creatively about problems, but the failure of both of those attempts and his sometimes abrasive attitude raises some concern about how well he can work with his fellow council members. We want him to keep that passion for creativity, but he also must put in the difficult political work of building consensus around his proposals.”

Mentioning the partial failures (in the article) of exotic animal bans (animal abuse prevention) and taxes (with me voting against the tax initiative rejected by the voters) highlights the maturity I have made in the position with my latest efforts for Property Tax Credits for Neighborhoods, Animal Abuse Reform, Local Regulation of State Mandated Medical Ma*****na, Zoning Initiatives, and countless other pieces I have authored or supported being passed by council typically with bi-partisan support.

The work we do does make a difference in the lives of our community and your support in my campaign by putting yard signs out, passing a card out, or telling someone to vote for Mark Fraizer means a lot.

I hope that I can get your vote on November 5th and continue to always better serve this community I love.

God Bless

I have always approached public service as a duty to find solutions to the issues facing our community. Over a year ago I proposed recommendations to the Licking County Transit Board about my research and solutions based on our community and it’s needs. I had the privilege of sitting in the transportation meeting tonight and once again presenting these ideas for considerations. In the midst of an election year I want to ensure residents I will continue to work towards finding solutions to our most difficult problems, attached you will find my proposal and let me know your thoughts.
