What is Newark Film Works?

NFW is a workforce development initiative that prepares Newark residents for high-quality careers in the growing film and digital media industry. Through a collaborative partnership among six Newark-based organizations, the program hosts training programs for Newark residents, equipping them with the technical skills, industry-recognized credentials, and professional networks needed to succeed on both union and non-union productions.

Newark Film Works fellows Nia Amirah, Quaz Z., and Anthony Nieves were hired as part of the production crew to work on the set of a podcast series filming locally in Newark.

All three individuals successfully completed the Newark Film Works training program through the Grip and Electric training track.
