So great to see 70 people come out for this morning's protest on High Street at the Bartlet Mall. Last Saturday, the NDCC marched in the spectacular Newburyport Pride Parade - but it was good to be back to our weekly 11 AM - 12 PM standout.
We have a busy summer of protest planned - including a few special events to be announced soon. So if you've had enough, you know where to find us!

“P“ is for the protest we were having here in Newburyport just as these letters were being yanked off the building. “P” is also for the Power of the People who fought to make sure justice was finally served.

FINALLY: In the dead of night, obstructed from view, workers began pulling letters from Trump's name off the Kennedy Center.

After a storm impacted our protest two weeks ago and the Pride Parade superseded last week's event, We ARE BACK! Join us tomorrow from 11 AM - 12 PM at the Bartlet Mall. There will be great music and plenty of signs available (or bring your own.)
We have a lot planned for this summer. Keep an eye out for our protest calendar, coming out next week.

Thank you to State Rep. Dawne Shand and her primary competitor, Stephen Roth, for speaking with us this evening about a range of issues facing our local communities. We were thrilled to have voters join us from towns including Amesbury, Salisbury, Merrimac, Newbury and West Newbury.
This is an especially busy primary season for Democrats, and events like this help ensure we are informed voters.

What a joy and an honor to walk with such a spirited group of members and friends in today's Newburyport Pride Parade. This is our third time participating, and the event feels more powerful and consequential each year. In the world we live in, we need days like this to remind us what community is all about.

Greetings from this weekend's MA Democratic Convention!
Newburyport was represented by an impressive 42 delegates and alternates. We heard inspiring speeches from our statewide Democratic leaders - plus Senator Elizabeth Warren. We also provided the needed votes so that both Senator Ed Markey and Congressman Seth Moulton will appear as Senate candidates on the September primary ballot. The program ended with a special tribute to longtime former MA Congressman Barney Frank, who passed away earlier this month.

Local Dems are ready for this weekend's Massachusetts Democratic Convention!
Elected delegates and alternates from this part of the First Essex and Middlesex district met up in Newburyport last night for a dinner to socialize and get ready for the weekend event. Thanks to all the candidates and surrogates who showed up to speak with us!
On Fri and Sat, we will gather, hear from our elected leaders, and vote to affirm who will represent our party on the primary ballot in September. More news and photos to come after the convention!
PS - Newburyport is proud to have a total of 47 delegates and alternates elected or chosen to attend the convention this weekend 🇺🇸

This photo from late winter is a reminder that we must continue to draw attention to the chaos, corruption and cruelty that is coming out of this administration. What better time to protest than Memorial Day weekend? Tomorrow, Saturday, marks the 85th day of the war in Iran. Meet us at the Bartlet Mall from 11 AM - 12 PM to spend an hour with pro-democracy and pro-decency friends. First time protesters always welcome!
